Farmer’s Market to Open for the 2016 Season
Mentor Farmers Market to Open
The time has rolled around again for sunny springlike weather and this also heralds in the farmers market season. The Mentor Farmers market vendors are busy preparing lots of local foods and creative goods to present to you starting Saturday, May 28th, and continuing each Saturday morning from 8 – noon through September. Several vendors have high tunnels allowing early harvesting. Lettuce, cucumbers, radishes and asparagus may be available as early as the Memorial weekend if the warm weather continues. Throughout the summer, the market will provide a good variety of fresh produce, breads, jams, salsa, eggs, honey, donuts, baked goods, bagels, cheese, quality meats, jewelry, handmade soaps, skin care products, weaving, live plants, night crawlers, local print t-shirts, area souvenirs and much more. The market members are very excited as the market continues to grow and fill the needs of their customers. Many exciting events are being planned to happen concurrently with the morning market. Several of the area car and tractor restorers will be displaying a favorite restored car or tractor of theirs right in the middle of the market space on various market days. There will also be music events as well and some fun surprises. The Erickson Smokehouse FoodTruck will be on hand for your morning breakfast fare with places to sit while you eat and chat with friends and neighbors. The Mentor Community playground project has made great strides, so bring the grandkiddies and give them some playtime in addition to your marketing.
